geomatics technologist requirements

Hi I would like to become geomatics technologist and was wondering what qualifications are necessary to become such, also what is the salary range and where can apply for a job? Please share your thoughts

As far as where to get a job I came across the Alberta Geomatics Group and they have a list of available careers at:

Not all the careers relate to Geomatics but it looks like there are some.

First and foremost you have to take courses in math, physics, earth sciences and computers. You can seek employment in the private sector, government projects, oil and gas industry and engineering firms. In general the employment outlook for geomatics technologists is very good. I will graduate this year from High School and I have to figure out what to do next. I most likely will go to College first.
