Hi all,

My name's Cameron and I'll be immigrating to Canada from Australia in March '07 with my lovely Canadian partner. We will be based in the Toronto area. While I spent almost 10 years in Canada as a youngster this time around I'll need to find work.

I've been contacting the agencies from the list posted previously but am wondering if anyone knows of any specific agencies that specialise in recruiting people coming to Canada from other countries?

Any help or feedback would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Cam.

Hi Cameron,
Most of the employment agencies (http://www.jobagencies.ca/index.asp?p=1&sp=1)prefer to work with people who are already in Canada. This is my experience.
Anyway what is your occupation and what kind of job are you looking for? Did you try publishing you resume on monster.ca and workopolis.com?

Regards

Hi and thanks for responding,

I am hopeful of getting sponsorship with the company I currently work for here in Australia who have an office in Missasauga, Ontario but also looking at all other potentials etc...I'm an artist who works 9 to 5 in a corporate call centre environment so am in the process of sending off my resume and details to all potential employers.

I will also shortly publish my resume and particulars on both Monster and Workopolis.

This is a very good idea. If you can arrange to get a transfer to the local office this will save you a lot of headache!

Good luck!

Try to get that transfer, the recruiters here are not helpful at all, they don't return phone calls even when you are in Canada...
