Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I received the iPOD video that I won in the jobforum.ca contest last month. Unfortunately Canada Post (XpressPost) lost the iPOD over the holiday season so I didn't receive a replacement unit until today.

Thanks very much to Peter for keeping me informed on the delivery status and providing tracking numbers so I could watch the progress of the delivery myself. The Canada Post website still shows it will be delivered on Dec. 18th! Peter was kind enough to purchase and send a 2nd iPOD when the first one got lost in the mail.

This is my first MP3 player so I'm pretty excited. It's actually a lot more than that. It has games, stop watch, clock, alarm clock, plays videos, podcasts, you can read e-books on it, and I even synched all my Outlook contacts on it. I've been spending the morning looking for a DVD to iPOD video converter because the iTunes software does not support video from DVD. If anyone knows of a good one, please let me know. I'm currently trying a couple of free trials and if I find one I like then I'll buy it. I just tried one free trial (only allowed a 10minute conversion) but it seemed to make a couple of errors.

So much for work today, I haven't been able to put it down since I got it. So thanks again to jobforum.ca, it is a fabulous prize.

Congratulations! I am a little jealous. I don't have an iPod but I'm curious can you actually watch a movie or a short film on this iPod?

Congrats Rob,

I wanted this iPod so badly, and if there is another contest I'll make sure that I post more than the last time :).

Will there be another contest anytime soon?

Yep, you can watch a full movie. You can purchase and download movies from iTunes and store them on your iPOD or you can convert your own movies and store on the iPOD. They need to be in MPEG4 format to view on the iPOD. I'm still looking for a good program to convert from DVD to MPEG4. I tried a few on Friday but haven't found one I really like yet. With the 30GB of memory I'm expecting to be able to save 2 to 3 movies on the iPOD.

Congratulations Rob! I'm glad you like it.
Too bad I couldn't participate in the contest.

By the way, Canada post is still tracing the lost iPod.....

Apple's website says that the 80 GB iPod can have 100 hours of video, and yours should be able to hold over 30 hours of video....

These iPOD videos are awesome. Just got back from vacation and my 5-year old daughter watched movies on it for the entire airplane flight both ways. Made for an easy flight; no fussing or complaining. She was watching Over the Hedge, Care Bears, and Land Before Time.

I currently have 1100 songs and 9 movies on the iPOD and still have 10GB capacity left. The movie files are a lot smaller than I expected.
