If you were to become an Ecologist, would labs or companies send you to travel around the globe and collect samples in forests, or other places. Would a similar job also do this? (Traveling not at my expense of course :P)

As an Ecologist you will most likely work outdoors, will do field sampling and will be involved in environmental issue analysis. If you want to explore different countries and to travel you have to make a research of the companies’ employing ecologists and find out where their research labs are located and in which areas they particularly work.
