Is social work in demand in Canada? I am currently employed as program manager in a non-profit child welfare organization. I supervise a staff of 26 and currently houses 34 rescued abused children.

My husband and I are planning to migrate/work in CAnada. I was wondering if I would have a hard time finding a job as a social worker in Canada. My sister-in-law who is now Citizen suggests that the fastest way to secure a working permit is to work as a Live-In caregiver. But that could take me 2 years before I could sponsor my family. Is there another way that my husband, son and I could go to canada at the same time?

Sorry for a little off topic here.

Hi, the only way that I can think of is to immigrate to Canada under the skilled worker program: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.html

You can find out if you meet the current pass mark of 67 points here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/assess/index.html

You can come to Canada with work permit but it is true that you’ll have to wait until you can sponsor your family.
