finding a volunteer job in software

My wife had her Masters in Computer Application from India and she also got some experience in SQL, C++ and VB from there. We are in Kitchener and now she got a work permit She wanted to volunteer for some IT job so that she can get some experience. Can anyone tell us which companies uses her experience. Most of the advertised jobs are through the recruiters and they usually don't care about volunteering. So she was trying to apply to the company directly.

I would suggest you to try and find a job instead volunteering. She can apply for an entry level position which is good enough and doesn’t require much experience. The IT market is really hot at the moment. Did you try contacting recruiting agencies (http://www.jobagencies.ca/index.asp?p=1&sp=1)?
