Hi,

I want to live in calgary Canada, as my place of residence.
I am an american citizen, and am retired at 43. I have no intention of working in Canada, so a work permit is not the way to go for me. What do I need to show at the border crossing to get into the country? Can I take household goods into the country with me and under what circumsance?

Thanks
M:)

Hi, this is an unusual question. :) There are 4 ways to come to Canada, to visit, to work, to study and to immigrate. For more info go to CIC web site: http://cic.gc.ca/english/visit/index.html
You can visit Canada for 6 months every year without a visa.
I will advise you to talk to immigration lawyer (http://www.getlawyer.ca/calgary--lawyers-city/). When are you planning to come to Canada?
