I am a U.S. citizen. My fiance is from eastern Europe. What are the chances of us immigrating to Canada considering:

1) We marry first. Currently we are living apart on different continents.

2) I scored above the 67 point qualifying level (I had 72), even without a job offer yet. A job offer would up this total.

3) I am a experienced teacher. She is an experienced casino dealer (speaks French and English).

4) I have close to $100,000 assets, no debt.

5) We are both upstanding citizens; no criminal record

6) She does have a 5 year ban from the US due to misrepresentation (she worked illegally on a visitor's visa for a few days and denied it). She is well traveled and this is her only blight on her passport. Again, she has no criminal record.

7) Our impending marriage is legitimate, not one of convenience. We have a long and documented history.

8) No dependents for either of us.

Also, what would be the expected time frame to process visas and clear all paperwork?

Any opinions or advice is greatly appreciated from those in the know.

If you scored 72 then you have great chances of immigrating to Canada as a skilled worker. If you apply from the US, the immigration procedure should be relatively fast (maybe a few months) and most likely you won't have to go to an interview. The easiest think to do is to check with Canadian embassy in US how long are the waiting times for immigration applications submitted there. They also will guide you how to proceed from here.

Which city do you live in?

Applying from US is faster than from any European country. The procedure should take maybe 6 months. I would suggest calling the embassy and they can give you a time frame. Of course the procedure will be faster if your documents are in order, so prepare ALL the documents and apply. If you are missing a document it will only slow down the procedure.
