Hi All

I'm doing a project for my communications class, and I was hoping to get some feedback.

We're curious about the level of importance you think should be applied to each item on the list.

The way you created the poll you can choose only one of all the options. You can ask the administrator to change it, or you can start a new one.

Here is my top 3 list:

1. Summary Of Qualifications
2. Reflection Of Job Posting Requirements
3. Grammar

I could select only one option so I'm listing my choices here:

Reflection Of Job Posting Requirements
Summary Of Qualifications
Cover Letter

I would have to say:

Grammar (very important!)
Cover letter (make it good or they wont even read it)
Length of page (too long and they wont read it) internetÂ*poker (http://casinomatrix.net/three-dimensional-internet-poker)

I agree with April on the grammar importance. You should definitely proofread it.

#1 Grammar
#2 Summary Of Qualifications
#3 Cover Letter

The spellchecker is your friend :). The original title of this thread is "What To Include On A Resume " and I don't think that the cover letter should be part of your resume. The cover letter might accompany your resume, listing summary of your skills/experience and at the same time explaining why do you think the job you are applying for is THE PERFECT JOB :D

First I would include Summary of Qualifications, then I will keep it short - depending on experience most of the times it can't be one page only, but 2 1/2 pages is fine, still not boring and Grammar, Spell check and Grammar.

Also if you have a copy of your resume online, make sure you update it regularly, even with minor changes. Most job databases and job search portals use a date criteria to select the most recently updated resumes first.

I wouldn't include - Interests & Hobbies. This is something you can discuss on an interview not in your Resume.
My References are usually available upon request. There is no need to include them in the Resume. Most of the time nobody will ask you for reference. For the cover letter I agree with lookingforjob. It is not part of the Resume but is very important and should accompany the Resume.

I agree. Unless they ask you about your hobbies and interests, keep everything strictly business.
