I agree that is important to confirm that the recruiter got your Resume and/or Cover Letter. It is also important to follow-up after a job interview, to thank the employer for the interview opportunity and to say that you liked the job and you are very interested in it.

It is VERY important to follow-up. The recruiters receive tons of emails and phone calls every day. The follow-up gives you an advantage and a nice opportunity to get noticed.

No, this is their job! They are recruiters, and this is their business to look for job opportunities, to send emails, to call people and to Follow-up. If they don't do, it is just a bad manner!

Its their job I agree, but they can only do so much.
I hardly think they would get annoyed though, in fact I think it makes their job easier as they know who is really interested.
