Hi,
I'm new here. My husband has had a really bad run of of luck with his jobs in the IT field in the past few years. One company was bought out by a larger company and he, along with the rest of the original staff were lt go and two companies ended up not being able to pay him because they weren't doing well financially. Needless to say his self esteem has been battered because he feels like he just can't seem to find a good stable job. Last week he went for an interview with a company that seems just wonderful! The interview lasted for just over 2 1/2 hours (two interviews with different people..1 1/4 hours each roughly) and they talked not only about the job and the company and his his resume, but also about our children, his hobbies etc. He said it felt more like a conversation than an interview. He really thinks the company is the perfect match for his skills and the people are great so he really wants this job. When he got home he called and left a voice mail saying how much he enjoyed the time with both interviewers and how much he'd love to work with them. Should he still follow-up with a note of thanks? They said they'd be in touch by the end of June...would it be Ok to call after a week has gone by just to ask how the process is coming? Would you take it as a good "sign" that the interviews lasted so long? We're both SO nervous about this.
Thanks for your time!
