I am hoping to move to Canada in Sept/Oct to live. I am Irish and my husband is Canadian Citizenship. We hope to arrive over by a place and start working. I am wondering does anyone know if as an Irish Citzen can i go there on a holiday visa, look for a job and then apply for a permit. Or does anyone know whether if you have property over in Canada, does this give you some right.
I am so confused ?

If you husband is a Canadian Citizen he can sponsor his family to come to Canada. Here is the CIC web site with all the info you need:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/sponsor/index.html

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/sponsor/familymembers.html

I hope this will give answers to your questions.

Good luck!

I am just wondering if we had property in Canada, will this allow me to work or even study instead of waiting for the family sponser forms.

This is very specific question and I'm afraid I don't know the answer
You can call the ministry or consult with a lawyer, but I really doubt it.

If you are married to a Canadian citizen don't you become a Canadian citizen automatically? Is there an application process that you have to go through (something like the independent immigrant application) to become a Canadian citizen if you marry Canadian?

You don't become Canadian citizen automatically. The spouse who is a Canadian citizen has to sponsor the spouse who is not Canadian citizen. For more info you can go to CIC web site : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/sponsor/familymembers.html

You still have to be sponsored by your Canadian spouse, but the application process should be faster compared to a regular independent immigrant application process.

I think the whole process takes about a year. It is much faster and easier. But do you know how long it takes to get the passport?

You need to take a Canadian Citizenship test in order to become a Canadian citizen (you had to be in Canada with landed immigrant status for at least 3 years out of the last 4 in order to apply for Canadian Citizen) and only after that you can get a Canadian passport. The waiting times for taking the test are different depending on where you live. The cities/neighbourhoods with higher percentage of immigrants have longer waiting times.
