New Rules - Skilled worker immigration [Archive]

As many of you know, The rules for PR changed early this year (see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp for details).

I'm curious if anyone has applied under the new rules.

In particular, I'm interested to hear if under the new rules the process if faster (I applied for PR 2006: I estimate I'll get a response in late 2009, or 2010).

I think that 3 years wait for response from Canadian Immigration is a reasonable amount of time considering how backlogged they are...

Good day everyone, I am Jason and I am new in here. I also have applied for Canadian Immigration. I think I will have response on 2011.

But I got a recent news that there is a list of 38 urgent jobs that the qualifiers can have 6 months to 1 year processing/waiting period.

Is this true?
