I'm looking for a list of Canadian job agencies dealing with IT positions. I'm mostly interested in contract work and I'm trying to find out how is the IT market in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.
Your help is highly appreciated.

You can try Procom and Computer Horizons. I believe both agencies have offices in most big Canadian cities (they have offices in Toronto/GTS for sure) and they work with IT professionals.

A lot of employment agencies (http://www.jobagencies.ca/index.asp?p=1&sp=1)deal with IT. You can search the agencies by keywords in the search box on your right. 181 agencies form the list specialize in IT and most of them have offices in more than one city.

IT market is very good in Canada at the moment.
Most of the jobs are through recruiting agencies. Adecco have offices all over Canada.

Hi metoo, did you have any luck contacting the employment agencies?
The fall is the best season for job hunting so it shouldn’t be a problem!

I agree the fall is the best season for job hunting. During the summer you think everybody's asleep and right after the Labour Day weekend bam! we all start to go to work again.

True :)
August is the worst month for job searching. Everybody’s on a holiday. The school starts in September and we all are back from our cottage or cruise or dream vacation.

Thanks guys!
I did some serious research and I think that the best Canadian city for IT jobs is Toronto. I found a few decent job offers for IT position in Ottawa too, but Toronto looks much better.
One thing that worries me is that most of the job ads didn't have a salary range. Is that something common? How can I make a research for the average salary for certain IP positions (web developer, software developer, database developer, etc.) in Toronto for example?

Hi metoo,
This free tool can help you with your research. It is a salary calculator (http://www.jobagencies.ca/index.asp?p=13)and it's very easy to use. You just select the job title, your postal code and city and you have to answer 5 simple questions to create a basic report.

Hi Philip,
In my experience most of the employment agencies deal with both permanent and contract positions. You can search the employment agencies (http://www.jobagencies.ca) list or you can check our new job offers (http://jobforum.ca/forumdisplay.php?f=16) section.
