Here are the minimum wages in all Canadian provinces:

British Columbia $8.00
Saskatchewan $7.55
Manitoba $7.25
Ontario $7.75
Quebec $7.60
New Brunswick $6.50
Nova Scotia $6.80
Prince Edward Island $6.80
Newfoundland & Labrador $6.50
Northwest Territories $8.25
Yukon $7.20
Nunavut $8.50

Some of the Canadian provinces have lower wages for students/liquer servers/workers receiving gratuities, etc.

Why is there so much difference between the provinces? Surely there should be one national minimum wage over the whole country for fairness across the work force..

It is all in line with cost of living.
Some provinces have a higher cost of living, therefore the wages (should be) in proportion to what that cost of living is.
Generally a cheaper area will see people earning less.

It's all about inflation :)

Yes this rates are per hour. The working week is 40 hours.
