HI! I am new to the postings so we will just see if I'm Doing it right .:) I'm admittedly getting older . I think the name is over qualified these days . Physicaly I find what I did most of my life difficult to do now , yet the is at least a decade before 65 I am trying to transition to Equipment Sale , building maintenence supervisor , Trades Staffing specialist etc. I need to make a lateral move and am finding the area I live in lacking in opportunity . Any sugestions of other postitions I may be able to apply for in your area would be helpfull indeed .

Where do you live right now and are you willing to relocate? If you are willing to relocate than maybe you should choose some big city closer to you. You can start looking for new job opportunities and relocate later.

There is some work here but I physically can't do it . We are building a Wind farm with 110 generators also the municipality has just completed a huge new arena . Where I live is in Sault Ste. Marie . There is still a project in the wings called the gate way progect which will be in the millions . This is the problem I am not able to directly benifit from these projects . I need to some how use the skills I have to slide into a new position . The skills are there reliability is there but there seems to be a changing of the gaurd so to speek . As I said before I only have 5 to 10 years to go . They don't seem to want to put me on the medical plan LOL so to speek .

I am listed on many electronic sites many of which list the number of times my resume has been accesed on one its at about 73 yet only 3 of those where employers . Hotjobs monster HRDC all offer the ability to classify your job search and you recieve those jobs in an Email . All you can do is change your search criteria once in awhile to generate a little more interest .

I would suggest updating your resume regularly. This done means you are actively looking for a job.

Thank you for your interest I do have more than one resume and have the option to do a change up electronically . Your right for sure it does work also changing your search now and agin helps to change your view of what you may be willing to or want to do . We all know that transitioning in a career usually means a temperary reduction in wages but its not a rule you can make a transition sideways that leads to a higher value . This transition is experienced by injured workers , older workers and ambitious workers . The trouble is ya can't go to work until someone asks you to go. :)
