blew it
I got called by a place and they asked what I was making at my last job.
The question caught me off guard so I told them. I think that was more than they expected but it was in a different city. Anyways, I basically got the "don't call us, we'll call you" speech. I will be surprised if they call. Why don't employers realize there a lot of factors besides money? |
They lack analytical skills. Serious.
One employer called me from Montreal when I was in Vancouver. The call was 6:45am meanwhile it is 9:45am. They were shocked I sounded tired and they wanted a phone interview immediately. To think the whole world lives in the same time zone is ridiculous. |
You were right to be honest about your salary. The company obviously aren't worth working for - obviously not well run if they call someone from another time zone and don't think to check if it's a suitable time.
There are plenty of other opportunities out there. It took months for a friend of mine to get a job - they were at the end of the tether, but now he has a great job.... You will too given time. |
Absolutely, don't despair. You can't please every recruiter or employer who calls you...
