Probably. There are many names for the same thing. For example I am an Electrical Engineering Technologist but my job also goes by:
- Engineering Technologist
- Electrical Technologist
- Electronics Technologist
- Electronics Engineering Technologist
- Certified Engineering Technologist (correct and legal as long as you have the C.E.T. designation or equivalent for your province)
- Electrical Technician (not correct)
- Electronics Technician (not correct)
- Electronics Engineering Technician (not correct)
- Electrical Engineering Technician (not correct)
- Electrical Engineer (not correct and illegal) You can not use the term Engineer in your title unless you are certified with the Professional Engineering Association in your province. In Ontario that is the PEO.
