Not to thread jack,
BUT....
if anyone has information regarding entry level apprenticeships can you please contact me.
I have completed the Pre-apprenticeship electrician program at Sir Sandford Fleming college and I am very eager to start a career and future in the electrical industry and am looking for as much experience as I can get. I don't have many contacts in the field and I really want to make a positive transition into a new career.

please dont hesitate to contact me with ways I can make this transition from labour trade to skilled labour.

thank you very much

Will.

Default Im a first year apprentice! :)

Hi,
My name is Lisa I am a 23-year-old female living in the Toronto area. I am looking for an electrician to take me on as a first year apprentice. It would mean the world to me. I have always shown great interest in this field although never pursued it due to pressure to go to university. I finished my degree in paramedicine in 2008. Although due to the competitive nature of the field and lack of jobs I have decided to change careers. I am smart and a very hard worker. I may be small but I am very strong and physically fit plus I always finish what I start. I do not have a history of electrical work. But I have installed car decks and minor house hold projects. I also watch homes on homes religiously haha. I am very flexible and have my own car to get around. I am willing to do whatever it takes to excel. If you would give me the opportunity I would be forever grateful!

Wallace,

It's been about 10 years since I wrote for my Industrial Electrician license so it may have changed but it was all multiple choice questions and took a couple of hours to write. You were allowed to use the code book and a calculator during the exam. That was in Ontario, other provinces may differ. When I wrote you needed 60% to pass, I heard it is now 70% but don't quote me on that.

When I wrote my Master Electrician exam a couple of years ago it was a similar set-up but you were also allowed to bring the building code and OHSA act.
