Default multiple agencies for same job?

Are there any cons to registering with a couple of placement agencies and they both submit your resume for the same job?

Recruiters will tell you that is unprofessional to register with two agencies... However it is their job to make sure that your resume has or has not been submitted already. If you are positive that your resume has been submitted tell this to the recruiter.
