I got called by a place and they asked what I was making at my last job.
The question caught me off guard so I told them.
I think that was more than they expected but it was in a different city.
Anyways, I basically got the "don't call us, we'll call you" speech.
I will be surprised if they call.
Why don't employers realize there a lot of factors besides money?
One employer called me from Montreal when I was in Vancouver. The call was 6:45am meanwhile it is 9:45am. They were shocked I sounded tired and they wanted a phone interview immediately.
To think the whole world lives in the same time zone is ridiculous.
You were right to be honest about your salary. The company obviously aren't worth working for - obviously not well run if they call someone from another time zone and don't think to check if it's a suitable time.
There are plenty of other opportunities out there.
It took months for a friend of mine to get a job - they were at the end of the tether, but now he has a great job.... You will too given time.
