Default Immigration issues

Hello to YOU

My friend Rahul applied for a work permit visa to enter Canada on the basis of a job offer from a canadian employer. The processing of the work permit visa took ten months & unfortunately the employer was not able to wait because of urgents contracts.

Now that Rahul has obtained a 2 year Work Permit visa to enter Canada, the employer has no job to offer him.

My Question is. Can Rahul enter Canada with the Work Permit visa and look for a job with another employer?

Is there any law or regulations which can prevent Rahul to enter Canada if he is not going to work for the same employer from whom he got the job offer to apply for the visa.

Hope you will get back to me.Thank you so much. regards Maria.

From your message I understand that this work permit is not valid anymore. You will not be able to enter Canada with invalid work permit. It is illegal.

Post Work Visa

Hi Maria,
It's a shame that happen after all the work he has done. For the part of the employer, they should have known how long roughly the visa is granted. And they should have honoured it. Also the visa is not appropriate for any other job as it is tied in with the LMO.
I would suggest to call and have a chat to the employer again as they may well have or need more people at some time.
Good Luck!!
