Default career change cover letter

I am trying to switch careers and I am not sure whether I should mention why I demand such a change on my cover letter. It is simply because it is quite hard to find any jobs in that field anymore and plus I am bored but I obviously can't mention that . Would it be acceptable and enough if I just mentioned the insufficient employment opportunities ? Thanks

Switching a career is something a lot of people do. I don't think the lack of job in your field worth mentioning. Maybe if asked you should say that you are in this point of your life when you need a career change...
