Bilingual (French) Administrative Assistant

The 500 Staffing proudly represents a large retailer located in Burnaby. Our client is seeking a bilingual (French) Administrative Assistant to join their Legal services Department on a permanent basis. Our client is willing to train the right applicant, however it is mandatory to be bilingual and have strong admin and customer service skills.
Responsibilities will include, and not limited to:

Handles all small claims matters including investigation, drafting, filing and serving pleadings, arranging the attendance of witnesses, preparing the staff for trial, in some cases attending small claims trials, assisting in settlement negotiations and drafting the settlement agreement when necessary. Maintains comprehensive litigation diary system; researches various areas of consumer law as directed.

• Inputs and maintains electronic and physical file management system for all files. Maintains detailed, current litigation and consumer matters spreadsheet reports.

• Handles customer service issues in conjunction with the customer support department.

• Follows company policies and procedures but identifies and brings issues forward.

• Completes preliminary research for lawyers regarding general legal issues.

• General secretarial and administrative duties as required
