Wallace,

It's been about 10 years since I wrote for my Industrial Electrician license so it may have changed but it was all multiple choice questions and took a couple of hours to write. You were allowed to use the code book and a calculator during the exam. That was in Ontario, other provinces may differ. When I wrote you needed 60% to pass, I heard it is now 70% but don't quote me on that.

When I wrote my Master Electrician exam a couple of years ago it was a similar set-up but you were also allowed to bring the building code and OHSA act.
